HEALTH INFORMATICS

Visual analytics in healthcare

SUMMARY

This project page demonstrates research under three categories:
 • Visual analytics techniques of general event sequence data that are motivated by the use cases of analyzing electronic health records. Our most recent research focuses on addressing typical analytical tasks in health informatics, such as summarizing clinical pathways, identifying disease progression stages, and extracting medical event causality.
 • Clinical decision support systems that are specifically developed for disease prediction, treatment planning, and anomalous electrocardiogram(ECG) signal detection.
 • Techniques that are broadly related to visual clustering analysis, text corpora visualization, and interactive data selection that can be applied to general medical use cases such as cohort filtering, cohort clustering, and medical text analysis.
